Thank You, Ms. Connie, for 4 Wonderful Years of Yoga at the Library!

In January 2022, we began offering yoga classes at the McCreary County Public Library. Initial funding for the program came from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Grant through the Institute of Museum and Library Services and the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives. Our goal was to provide a healthy outlet for stress relief and to promote wellness in our community. Constance Willis, owner and instructor of the Yoga and Wellness Education Centre in Somerset, KY, graciously agreed to teach a weekly yoga class at the library. What began as a simple class grew into a beautiful partnership and a rewarding community program.

We are deeply grateful to Ms. Connie for sharing her time, knowledge, and calming spirit through our library’s yoga classes over the past four years. Her dedication and experience have helped participants grow stronger, healthier, and more mindful. As she moves on to new endeavors, we wish her all the best and sincerely thank her for everything she has given our program.

We’re also excited to share that Ms. Rhonda, a member of our library staff who has been inspired by and trained alongside Ms. Connie, will become a certified yoga instructor in January and will be taking over the weekly classes. The classes are beginner-friendly, mats are provided, and there is no class fee. We look forward to continuing this wonderful program for our community.
