MCPL Thanks the Friends of the McCreary County Public Library!
The McCreary County Public Library would like to thank the Friends of the McCreary County Public Library group for funding the new “Blast Off to Reading” program and for the mini-grants they’ve awarded the library for adult programming, bookmobile activities, and the library’s yoga and wellness programs! MCPL Receives Grant from the Lake Area Foundation!
The Lake Area Foundation, Inc. presented a $1,500 grant award from the Lake Cumberland Area Development Fund’s Fall 2025 grant cycle to the McCreary County Public Library for their Comfort Cabinet project. MCPL plans to purchase cabinets to place in the library’s public restrooms and stock them with personal hygiene items for the public to use as needed. Initial funding for the program came from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Grant through the Institute of Museum and Library Services and the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives. MCPL Welcomes Victoria Smith to Our Team!
The McCreary County Public Library welcomes Victoria Smith as the part-time Adult Programming Coordinator! Victoria will take over most of the adult programs at the library; Holly Daugherty will now focus on youth services. We are very excited to have Victoria on our team. She brings a wealth of creativity and a love of community to the position and we are looking forward to seeing her programs develop.

Today Library Director Mr. Grady Wilson enjoyed talking with the kids at College and Career Day at Pine Knot Intermediate School. He spoke with the kids about his job as a Library Director and the variety of jobs we have at McCreary County Public Library.
